Bhagavad Gita: Chapter 10/Verse 26

अश्वत्थः सर्ववृक्षाणां देवर्षीणां च नारदः ।

गन्धर्वाणां चित्ररथः सिद्धानां कपिलो मुनिः ॥१०- २६॥

aśvatthaḥ sarvavṛkṣāṇāṃ devarṣīṇāṃ ca nāradaḥ ।

gandharvāṇāṃ citrarathaḥ siddhānāṃ kapilo muniḥ ॥10- 26॥

The Ashvattha of all trees, Narada of divine seers, Citraratha of the Gandharvas, and the sage Kapila of the perfected. 


aśvatthas (masculine, nominative, singular) = ashvattha (sacred fig tree)

sarvavṛkṣāṇām (sarva + vṛkṣāṇām) (masculine, genitive, plural) = of all trees 

devarṣīṇām (masculine, genitive, plural) = of divine seers 

ca (adverb) (indeclinable) = and

nāradas (masculine, nominative, singular) = Narada (an ancient seer)

gandharvāṇām (masculine, genitive, plural) = of the Gandharvas (heavenly musicians) 

citrarathas (masculine, nominative, singular) = Citraratha (chief of the Gandharvas) 

siddhānām (masculine, genitive, plural) = of the perfected 

kapilas (masculine, nominative, singular) = Kapila (founder of the Samkhya school of philosophy)

munis (masculine, nominative, singular) = sage
