Bhagavad Gita: Chapter 11/Verse 49

मा ते व्यथा मा च विमूढभावो
दृष्ट्वा रूपं घोरमीदृङ्ममेदम् ।
व्यपेतभीः प्रीतमनाः पुनस्त्वं
तदेव मे रूपमिदं प्रपश्य ॥११- ४९॥

mā te vyathā mā ca vimūḍhabhāvo
dṛṣṭvā rūpaṃ ghoramīdṛṅmamedam ।
vyapetabhīḥ prītamanāḥ punastvaṃ
tadeva me rūpamidaṃ prapaśya ॥11- 49॥

Having seen this form of me in such a terrible condition, you should not tremble nor be in a state of confusion. Indeed, you must see that form of me that again frees fear [and] cheers the mind.

Not by the study of Vedic sacrifices and sacred knowledge, not by gifts, not by ritual acts, and not by terrible austerities am I able to be seen in such a form in the world of humans by other than you, Kuru Hero.

The Blessed Lord said, by my graciousness to you, Arjuna, this supreme form was shown from the yoga of the self, made of primal, unending, universal splendor of me, which was not previously seen by other than you.

Having seen the previously unseen, I am delighted and my mind trembled with fear. Indeed, you must cause that appearance of my form, O God. You must have mercy, Lord of Gods, Abode of the Universe.

Bhagavad Gita: Chapter 11/Verse 44

तस्मात्प्रणम्य प्रणिधाय कायं

पितेव पुत्रस्य सखेव सख्युः
 प्रियः प्रियायार्हसि देव सोढुम् ॥११- ४४॥

tasmātpraṇamya praṇidhāya kāyaṃ
prasādaye tvāmahamīśamīḍyam ।
piteva putrasya sakheva sakhyuḥ
 priyaḥ priyāyārhasi deva soḍhum ॥11- 44॥

Therefore, having bowed, having prostrated with body, I offer myself to you, lord to be praised. Like a father of a son, like a friend of a friend, a beloved to a lover. Be patient, O God.

tvamādidevaḥ puruṣaḥ purāṇa-

vettāsi vedyaṃ ca paraṃ ca dhāma
tvayā tataṃ viśvamanantarūpa ॥11- 38॥

You are the primal god, you are the ancient spirit, you are the supreme store house of all, you are the knower to be known, and supreme abode, all is pervaded by you, O Endless Form.

Arjuna said, being in a state of celebration, the world rejoices and is gratified, Bristling Haired One. The terrified demons run in all directions and the throngs of the perfected ones will bow.

Bhagavad Gita: Chapter 11/Verse 35

सञ्जय उवाच

एतच्छ्रुत्वा वचनं केशवस्य
कृताञ्जलिर्वेपमानः किरीटी ।
नमस्कृत्वा भूय एवाह कृष्णं
सगद्गदं भीतभीतः प्रणम्य ॥११- ३५॥

sañjaya uvāca

etacchrutvā vacanaṃ keśavasya
kṛtāñjalirvepamānaḥ kirīṭī ।
namaskṛtvā bhūya evāha kṛṣṇaṃ
sagadgadaṃ bhītabhītaḥ praṇamya ॥11- 35॥

Sanjaya said, having heard this utterance of Keshava.  One who made an anjali trembling (Arjuna), the Diademed One having bowed, indeed, very much frightened having bowed again stammeringly spoke to Krishna.

Bhagavad Gita: Chapter 11/Verse 34

द्रोणं च भीष्मं च जयद्रथं च
कर्णं तथान्यानपि योधवीरान् ।
मया हतांस्त्वं जहि मा व्यथिष्ठा
युध्यस्व जेतासि रणे सपत्नान् ॥११- ३४॥

droṇaṃ ca bhīṣmaṃ ca jayadrathaṃ ca
karṇaṃ tathānyānapi yodhavīrān ।
mayā hatāṃstvaṃ jahi mā vyathiṣṭhā
yudhyasva jetāsi raṇe sapatnān ॥11- 34॥

Thus Drona, Bhishma, Javadratha, Karna, and other warrior heroes are also killed by me. You must kill, and not tremble! You will conquer rivals in battle.

Therefore, you must stand up, you must obtain glory. Having conquered enemies, you must enjoy a prosperous domain. Indeed, already these are struck down by me. Indeed, you must be the mere cause, O Ambidextrous Archer.

The Blessed Lord said, I am time, mighty doer of the destruction of the world engaged to destroy the worlds. Even without you, all the arrayed warriors who are in opposing ranks will not be.
