Bhagavad Gita: Chapter 12/Verse 5

क्लेशोऽधिकतरस्तेषामव्यक्तासक्तचेतसाम् ।

अव्यक्ता हि गतिर्दुःखं देहवद्भिरवाप्यते ॥१२- ५॥



kleśo'dhikatarasteṣāmavyaktāsaktacetasām ।



avyaktā hi gatirduḥkhaṃ dehavadbhiravāpyate ॥12- 5॥


Greater is the anguish of the them whose thoughts are attached to the non-manifest. Indeed, the non-manifest goal is attained with difficulty by the embodied.



kleśas (masculine, nominative, singular) = anguish 


adhikataras (comparative, masculine, nominative, singular) = greater 


teṣām (masculine, genitive, plural) = of them 


avyaktāsaktacetasām (avyakta + āsakta + cetasām) (masculine, genitive, plural) = of thoughts that are attached to the non-manifest 


avyaktā (feminine, nominative, singular) = non-manifest


hi (adverb) (indeclinable) = indeed


gatis (feminine, nominative, singular) = goal 


duḥkham (accusative used adverbially) (neuter, accusative, singular) = difficultly 


dehavadbhis (deha + vadbhis) (masculine, instrumental, plural) = by the embodied 


avāpyate (present tense, passive, 3rd person, singular) = it is attained
