Bhagavad Gita: Chapter 15/Verse 2

अधश्चोर्ध्वं प्रसृतास्तस्य शाखा
गुणप्रवृद्धा विषयप्रवालाः ।
अधश्च मूलान्यनुसंततानि
कर्मानुबन्धीनि मनुष्यलोके ॥१५- २॥

adhaścordhvaṃ prasṛtāstasya śākhā
guṇapravṛddhā viṣayapravālāḥ ।
adhaśca mūlānyanusaṃtatāni
karmānubandhīni manuṣyaloke ॥15- 2॥

The branches are lengthened high and low, fully developed by the gunas. The young shoots of sense objects and the low roots multiplied in uninterrupted succession attached to action in the world of humans. 



adhas (adverb) (indeclinable) = low 

ca (conjunction) (indeclinable) = and 

urdhvam (adverb) (indeclinable) = high

prasṛtās (past passive participle, masculine, nominative, plural) = lengthened 

tasya (pronoun, 3rd person, masculine, genitive, singular) = of it  

śākhās (feminine, nominative, plural) = branches 

guṇapravṛddhās (guṇa + pravṛddhās) (past passive participle, masculine, nominative, plural) = fully developed by the gunas

viṣayapravālās (viṣaya + pravālās) (masculine, nominative, plural) = the young shoots of sense objects

adhas (adverb) (indeclinable) = low 

ca (conjunction) (indeclinable) = and 

mūlāni (neuter, nominative, plural) = roots 

anusaṃtatāni (past passive participle, neuter, nominative, plural) = multiplied in uninterrupted succession 


karmānubandhīni (karma + anubandhīni) (neuter, nominative, plural) = attached to action  

manuṣyaloke (manuṣya + loke) (masculine, locative, singular) = in the world of humans
