Bhagavad Gita: Chapter 14/Verse 1

श्रीभगवानुवाच

परं भूयः प्रवक्ष्यामि ज्ञानानां ज्ञानमुत्तमम् ।

यज्ज्ञात्वा मुनयः सर्वे परां सिद्धिमितो गताः ॥१४- १॥

śrībhagavānuvāca
paraṃ bhūyaḥ pravakṣyāmi jñānānāṃ jñānamuttamam ।

yajjñātvā munayaḥ sarve parāṃ siddhimito gatāḥ ॥14- 1॥

The Blessed Lord said, I will declare further the highest knowledge of knowledge. The sages having known that which is the best; hence, all of them are gone to the supreme perfection. 


śrībhagavān (masculine, nominative, singular) = the Blessed Lord 

uvāca (past tense, 3rd person, singular) = said 

param (masculine, accusative, singular) = highest 

bhūyas (adverb) (indeclinable) = further 

pravakṣyāmi (future tense, 1st person, singular) = I will declare 

jñānānām (neuter, genitive, plural) = of knowledge 

jñānam (neuter, accusative, singular) = knowledge 

uttamam (neuter, accusative, singular) = the best 

yad (pronoun, 3rd person, neuter, accusative, singular) = that which 

jñātvā (gerund) (indeclinable) = having known 

munayas (masculine, nominative, plural) = sages 

sarve (masculine, nominative, plural) = them all

parām (feminine, accusative, singular) = supreme 

siddhim (feminine, accusative, singular) = perfection 

itas (adverb) (indeclinable) = from here 

gatās (past passive participle, masculine, nominative, plural) = gone
