Bhagavad Gita: Chapter 14/Verse 15

रजसि प्रलयं गत्वा कर्मसङ्गिषु जायते ।

तथा प्रलीनस्तमसि मूढयोनिषु जायते ॥१४- १५॥

rajasi pralayaṃ gatvā karmasaṅgiṣu jāyate ।


tathā pralīnastamasi mūḍhayoniṣu jāyate ॥14- 15॥

Having gone to dissolution, one is born in rajas with those attached to action, likewise, dissolving in tamas in the wombs of the deluded. 


rajasi (neuter, locative, singular) = in rajas 

pralayam (masculine, accusative, singular) = dissolution 

gatvā (gerund) (indeclinable) = having gone 

karmasaṅgiṣu (karma + saṅgiṣu) (masculine, locative, singular) = in attachment to action 

jāyate (present tense, 3rd person, singular) = one is born 



tathā (adverb) (indeclinable) = likewise 

pralīnas (masculine, nominative, singular) = dissolving 

tamasi (neuter, locative, singular) = in tamas 

mūḍhayoniṣu (feminine, locative, plural) = in the wombs of the deluded  

jāyate (present tense, 3rd person, singular) = one is born
