Bhagavad Gita: Chapter 13/Verse 23

य एवं वेत्ति पुरुषं प्रकृतिं च गुणैः सह ।

सर्वथा वर्तमानोऽपि न स भूयोऽभिजायते ॥१३- २३॥

ya evaṃ vetti puruṣaṃ prakṛtiṃ ca guṇaiḥ saha ।

sarvathā vartamāno'pi na sa bhūyo'bhijāyate ॥13- 23॥

Thus, the one who knows the spirit and material nature together with the gunas; that one, existing in whatever way, is also not born again. 


yas (pronoun, 3rd person, masculine, nominative, singular) = one who 

evaṃ (adverb) (indeclinable) = thus

vetti (present tense, 3rd person, singular) = one knows 

puruṣam (masculine, accusative, singular) = spirit

prakṛtim (feminine, accusative, singular) = material nature 

ca (conjunction) (indeclinable) = and

guṇais (masculine, instrumental, plural) = with the gunas 

saha (adverb) (indeclinable) = together 



sarvathā (adverb) (indeclinable) = in whatever way 

vartamānas (present participle, masculine, nominative, singular) = existing 

api (adverb) (indeclinable) = also

na (adverb) (indeclinable) = not

sas (pronoun, 3rd person, masculine, nominative, singular) = one

bhūyas (adverb) (indeclinable)  = again

abhijāyate (present tense, 3rd person, singular) = one is born
