Bhagavad Gita: Chapter 13/Verse 19

प्रकृतिं पुरुषं चैव विद्ध्यनादी उभावपि ।

विकारांश्च गुणांश्चैव विद्धि प्रकृतिसंभवान् ॥१३- १९॥

prakṛtiṃ puruṣaṃ caiva viddhyanādī ubhāvapi ।

vikārāṃśca guṇāṃścaiva viddhi prakṛtisaṃbhavān ॥13- 19॥

Indeed, you must know material nature and spirit, both having no beginning. And indeed, you must also know the changes of the gunas arising in material nature. 


prakṛtiṃ (feminine, accusative, singular) = material nature

puruṣaṃ (masculine, accusative, singular) = spirit 

ca (conjunction) (indeclinable) = and 

eva (adverb) (indeclinable) = indeed 

viddhi (imperative, 2nd person, singular) = you must know

anādī (neuter, accusative, dual) = having no beginning  

ubhāu (neuter, accusative, dual) = both 

api (adverb) (indeclinable) = also 

vikārān (masculine, accusative, plural) = changes 

ca (conjunction) (indeclinable) = and 

guṇān (masculine, accusative, plural) = gunas 

ca (conjunction) (indeclinable) = and 

eva (adverb) (indeclinable) = indeed 

viddhi (imperative, 2nd person, singular) = you must know

prakṛtisaṃbhavān (prakṛti + saṃbhavān) (masculine, accusative, plural) = the arising in material nature
