Bhagavad Gita: Chapter 14/Verse 23

उदासीनवदासीनो गुणैर्यो न विचाल्यते ।

गुणा वर्तन्त इत्येव योऽवतिष्ठति नेङ्गते ॥१४- २३॥

udāsīnavadāsīno guṇairyo na vicālyate ।

guṇā vartanta ityeva yo'vatiṣṭhati neṅgate ॥14- 23॥


One who stands firm and does not waver, who seated as if indifferent is not disturbed by the gunas thinking "the gunas move." 


udāsīnavat (adverb) (indeclinable) = as if indifferent 

āsīnas (present participle, masculine, nominative, singular) = seated 

guṇais (masculine, instrumental, plural) = by the gunas 

yas (pronoun, 3rd person, masculine, nominative, singular) = who

na (adverb) (indeclinable) = not

vicālyate (present tense, causative passive, 3rd person, singular) = one is disturbed 



guṇās (masculine, nominative, plural) = gunas 

vartante (present tense, 3rd person, plural) = they move  

iti (punctuation) (indeclinable) = (quotation marks)

eva (adverb) (indeclinable) = indeed 

yas (pronoun, 3rd person, masculine, nominative, singular) = who

avatiṣṭhati (present tense, 3rd person, singular) = one stands firm  

na (adverb) (indeclinable) = not

iṅgate (present tense, 3rd person, singular) = one wavers
