Bhagavad Gita: Chapter 16/Verse 12

आशापाशशतैर्बद्धाः कामक्रोधपरायणाः ।

ईहन्ते कामभोगार्थमन्यायेनार्थसञ्चयान् ॥१६- १२॥

āśāpāśaśatairbaddhāḥ kāmakrodhaparāyaṇāḥ ।

īhante kāmabhogārthamanyāyenārthasañcayān ॥16- 12॥

By the hundred snares of hope bound are those devoted to anger and desire. By unjust means they seek hoards of objects, the object for the enjoyment of desire.


āśāpāśaśatais (āśā + pāśa + śatais) (masculine, instrumental, plural) = by a hundred snares of hope 

baddhās (past passive participle, masculine, nominative, plural) = bound 

kāmakrodhaparāyaṇās (kāma + krodha + parāyaṇās) (masculine, nominative, plural) = those devoted to anger and desire 

īhante (present tense, 3rd person, plural) = they seek

kāmabhogārtham (kāma + bhoga + artham) (masculine, accusative, singular) = the object for the enjoyment of desire 

anyāyena (masculine, instrumental, singular) = by unjust means

arthasañcayān (artha + sañcayān) (masculine, accusative, plural) = hoards of objects
