Bhagavad Gita: Chapter 18/Verse 9

कार्यमित्येव यत्कर्म नियतं क्रियतेऽर्जुन ।


सङ्गं त्यक्त्वा फलं चैव स त्यागः सात्त्विको मतः ॥१८- ९॥

kāryamityeva yatkarma niyataṃ kriyate'rjuna ।

saṅgaṃ tyaktvā phalaṃ caiva sa tyāgaḥ sāttviko mataḥ ॥18- 9॥

Indeed, the disciplined action which is to be done, it is done having abandoned attachment and fruit, Arjuna. Indeed, that abandonment is considered sattvic. 


kāryam (gerundive, neuter, nominative, singular) = to be done 

iti (punctuation) (indeclinable) = thus 

eva (adverb) (indeclinable) = indeed

yad (pronoun, 3rd person, masculine, nominative, singular) = which 

karma (neuter, nominative, singular) = action 

niyatam (neuter, nominative, singular) = disciplined 

kriyate (present tense, passive, 3rd person, singular) = it is done 

arjuna (masculine, vocative, singular) = Arjuna 


saṅgam (masculine, accusative, singular) = attachment 

tyaktvā (gerund) (indeclinable) = having abandoned 

phalam (neuter, accusative, singular) = fruit

ca (adverb) (indeclinable) = and 

eva (adverb) (indeclinable) = indeed

sas (pronoun, 3rd person, masculine, nominative, singular) = that one

tyāgas (masculine, nominative, singular) = the abandonment 

sāttvikas (masculine, nominative, singular) = sattvic 

matas (past passive participle, masculine, nominative, singular) = is considered
