Bhagavad Gita: Chapter 18/Verse 51

बुद्ध्या विशुद्ध्या युक्तो धृत्यात्मानं नियम्य च ।

शब्दादीन्विषयांस्त्यक्त्वा रागद्वेषौ व्युदस्य च ॥१८- ५१॥




buddhyā viśuddhyā yukto dhṛtyātmānaṃ niyamya ca ।


śabdādīnviṣayāṃstyaktvā rāgadveṣau vyudasya ca ॥18- 51॥

Yoked with pure intelligence, controlling the self with steadfastness, abandoning the objects of the senses of sound, etc., and rejecting desire and hatred. 


buddhyā (feminine, instrumental, singular) = with intelligence 

viśuddhyā (feminine, instrumental, singular) = with pure 

yuktas (past passive participle, masculine, nominative, singular) = yoked

dhṛtyā (feminine, instrumental, singular) = with steadfastness 

ātmānam (masculine, accusative, singular) = the self  

niyamya (gerund) (indeclinable) = controlling 

ca (conjunction) (indeclinable) = and

śabdādīn (śabda + adīn) (masculine, accusative, plural) = sound, etc.  

viṣayān (masculine, accusative, plural) = objects of the senses 

tyaktvā (gerund) (indeclinable) = abandoning 

rāgadveṣau (rāga + dveṣau) (masculine, accusative, dual) = desire and hatred 

vyudasya (gerund) (indeclinable)  = rejecting 

ca (conjunction) (indeclinable) = and
