Bhagavad Gita: Chapter 17/Verse 26

सद्भावे साधुभावे च सदित्येतत्प्रयुज्यते ।

प्रशस्ते कर्मणि तथा सच्छब्दः पार्थ युज्यते ॥१७- २६॥

sadbhāve sādhubhāve ca sadityetatprayujyate ।


praśaste karmaṇi tathā sacchabdaḥ pārtha yujyate ॥17- 26॥

"Sat" is used in its meaning of "reality" and "goodness." Thus, this sound of  "sat" is used in praiseworthy action, Son of Pritha. 


sadbhāve (sat + bhāve) (masculine, locative, singular) = in the meaning of reality 

sādhubhāve (sādhu + bhāve) (masculine, locative, singular) = in the meaning of goodness  

ca (adverb) (indeclinable) = and 

sat (neuter, nominative, singular) = sat

iti (punctuation) (indeclinable) = (close quotes) 

etad (pronoun, 3rd person, neuter, nominative, singular) = this

prayujyate (present tense, passive, 3rd person, singular) = it is used

praśaste (past passive participle, neuter, locative, singular) = in praiseworthy  

karmaṇi (neuter, locative, singular) = in action

tathā (adverb) (indeclinable) = thus

sacchabdas (sat + śabdas) (masculine, nominative, singular) = the sound of sat 

pārtha (masculine, vocative, singular) = Son of Partha (epithet of Arjuna)  

yujyate (present tense, passive, 3rd person, singular) = it is used
