Bhagavad Gita: Chapter 18/Verse 30

प्रवृत्तिं च निवृत्तिं च कार्याकार्ये भयाभये ।


बन्धं मोक्षं च या वेत्ति बुद्धिः सा पार्थ सात्त्विकी ॥१८- ३०॥

pravṛttiṃ ca nivṛttiṃ ca kāryākārye bhayābhaye ।

bandhaṃ mokṣaṃ ca yā vetti buddhiḥ sā pārtha sāttvikī ॥18- 30॥

The understanding which knows activity and inactivity, what is to be done and what is not to be done, what is to be feared and what is not to be feared, bondage and liberation, that is sattvic, Son of Pritha. 


pravṛttim (feminine, accusative, singular) = activity  

ca (conjunction) (indeclinable) = and

nivṛttim (feminine, accusative, singular) = inactivity  

ca (conjunction) (indeclinable) = and

kāryākārye (kārya + akārye) (gerundive, neuter, accusative, dual) =  what is to be done and what is not to be done

bhayābhaye (bhaya + abhaye) (neuter, accusative, dual) = what is to be feared and what is not to be feared  


bandham (masculine, accusative, singular) = bondage 

mokṣam (masculine, accusative, singular) = liberation 

ca (conjunction) (indeclinable) = and

yā (feminine, nominative, singular) = which 

vetti (present tense, 3rd person, singular) = it knows

buddhis (feminine, nominative, singular) = understanding 

sā (feminine, nominative, singular) = that one 

pārtha (masculine, vocative, singular) = Son of Pritha 

sāttvikī (feminine, nominative, singular) = sattvic
