Bhagavad Gita: Chapter 18/Verse 48

सहजं कर्म कौन्तेय सदोषमपि न त्यजेत् ।

सर्वारम्भा हि दोषेण धूमेनाग्निरिवावृताः ॥१८- ४८॥


sahajaṃ karma kaunteya sadoṣamapi na tyajet ।



sarvārambhā hi doṣeṇa dhūmenāgnirivāvṛtāḥ ॥18- 48॥

Son of Kunti, also one should not be abandoned action born with defect. Indeed, all undertakings are enveloped with fault like fire with smoke. 



sahajam (neuter, accusative, singular) = born together 


karma (neuter, accusative, singular) = action


kaunteya (masculine, vocative, singular) = Son of Kunti


sadoṣam (neuter, accusative, singular) = defective 


api (adverb) (indeclinable) = also


na (adverb) (indeclinable) = not


tyajet (optative, 3rd person, singular) = one should abandon 


sarvārambhās (sarva +  ārambhās) (masculine, nominative, plural) = all undertakings 


hi (adverb) (indeclinable) = indeed


doṣeṇa (neuter, instrumental, singular) = with fault


dhūmena (masculine, instrumental, singular) = with smoke 


agnis (masculine, nominative, singular) = fire


iva (adverb) (indeclinable) = like 


āvṛtās (past passive participle, masculine, nominative, plural) = enveloped
