Bhagavad Gita: Chapter 18/Verse 40

न तदस्ति पृथिव्यां वा दिवि देवेषु वा पुनः ।


सत्त्वं प्रकृतिजैर्मुक्तं यदेभिः स्यात्त्रिभिर्गुणैः ॥१८- ४०॥

na tadasti pṛthivyāṃ vā divi deveṣu vā punaḥ ।

sattvaṃ prakṛtijairmuktaṃ yadebhiḥ syāttribhirguṇaiḥ ॥18- 40॥

There is no being on earth or even in heaven among the gods, which can exist freed by these three gunas, born of material nature.

pṛthivyām (feminine, locative, singular) = on earth  

vā (adverb) (indeclinable) = or

deveṣu (masculine, locative, plural) = among the gods 

vā (adverb) (indeclinable) = or

punar (adverb) (indeclinable) = even


sattvam (neuter, nominative, singular) = being

prakṛtijais (masculine, instrumental, singular) = born of material nature 

muktam (past passive participle, neuter, nominative, singular) = freed 

yad (pronoun, 3rd person, neuter, nominative, singular) = which 

ebhis (pronoun, 3rd person, masculine, instrumental, plural) = by these

syāt (optative, 3rd person, singular) = it can be 

tribhis (masculine, instrumental, plural) = by three 

guṇais (masculine, instrumental, plural) = gunas
