Bhagavad Gita: Chapter 17/Verse 24

तस्मादोमित्युदाहृत्य यज्ञदानतपःक्रियाः ।

प्रवर्तन्ते विधानोक्ताः सततं ब्रह्मवादिनाम् ॥१७- २४॥

tasmādomityudāhṛtya yajñadānatapaḥkriyāḥ ।


pravartante vidhānoktāḥ satataṃ brahmavādinām ॥17- 24॥

Therefore, having uttered the sacred syllable, "om," always the acts of sacrifice, gifts, and austerities of the expounders of Brahman proclaimed in the precepts are commenced. 


tasmāt (masculine, ablative, singular) = therefore 

om = the sacred syllable, om 

iti (punctuation) (indeclinable) = (close quotes) 

udāhṛtya (gerund) (indeclinable) = having uttered 

yajñadānatapaḥkriyās (yajña + dāna + tapas + kriyās) (masculine, nominative, plural) = acts of sacrifice, gifts, and austerities 

pravartante (present tense, 3rd person, plural) = they are commenced 

vidhānoktās (vidhāna + uktās) (past passive participle, masculine, nominative, plural) = proclaimed in the precepts  

satatam (adverb) (indeclinable) = always

brahmavādinām (brahma + vādinām) (masculine, genitive, plural) = of the expounders of Brahman
