Bhagavad Gita: Chapter 18/Verse 2

श्रीभगवानुवाच

काम्यानां कर्मणां न्यासं संन्यासं कवयो विदुः ।



सर्वकर्मफलत्यागं प्राहुस्त्यागं विचक्षणाः ॥१८- २॥

śrībhagavānuvāca


kāmyānāṃ karmaṇāṃ nyāsaṃ saṃnyāsaṃ kavayo viduḥ ।


sarvakarmaphalatyāgaṃ prāhustyāgaṃ vicakṣaṇāḥ ॥18- 2॥



The Blessed Lord said: The poets know renunciation, the relinquishment of the actions that spring from desire. The clear-eyed declare abandonment is the abandonment of all fruit of action. 



śrībhagavān (masculine, nominative, singular) = the Blessed Lord


uvāca (past tense, 3rd person, singular) = said


kāmyānām 
(neuter, genitive, plural) = of spring from desire  


karmaṇām (neuter, genitive, plural) = of actions


nyāsam (masculine, accusative, singular) = relinquishment 


saṃnyāsam (masculine, accusative, singular) = renunciation 


kavayas (masculine, nominative, plural) = the poets 


vidus (past tense, 3rd person, plural) = they know



sarvakarmaphalatyāgam (sarva + karma + phala + tyāgam) (masculine, accusative, singular) = abandonment of all fruit of action  

prāhus (past tense, 3rd person, plural) = they declare 


tyāgam (masculine, accusative, singular) = abandonment 


vicakṣaṇās (masculine, nominative, plural) = they clear-eyed
