Bhagavad Gita: Chapter 18/Verse 16

तत्रैवं सति कर्तारमात्मानं केवलं तु यः ।


पश्यत्यकृतबुद्धित्वान्न स पश्यति दुर्मतिः ॥१८- १६॥

tatraivaṃ sati kartāramātmānaṃ kevalaṃ tu yaḥ ।

paśyatyakṛtabuddhitvānna sa paśyati durmatiḥ ॥18- 16॥


Thus there who sees but only the self as the one who acts in being, that blockhead does not see because of understanding that is not perfect. 


tatra (adverb) (indeclinable) = there 

evam (adverb) (indeclinable) = thus 

sati (present participle, neuter, locative, singular) = in being 

kartāram (masculine, accusative, singular) = the one who acts 

ātmānam (masculine, accusative, singular) = the self 

kevalaṃ (masculine, accusative, singular) = only 

tu (conjunction) (indeclinable) = but 

yas (masculine, nominative, singular) = who


paśyati (present tense, 3rd person, singular) = one sees 

akṛtabuddhitvāt (akṛta + buddhitvāt) (neuter, ablative, singular) =  because of understanding that is not perfect

na (adverb) (indeclinable) = not 

sas (pronoun, 3rd person, masculine, nominative, singular) = that one  

paśyati (present tense, 3rd person, singular) = one sees

durmatis (masculine, nominative, singular) = blockhead
