Bhagavad Gita: Chapter 17/Verse 28

अश्रद्धया हुतं दत्तं तपस्तप्तं कृतं च यत् ।

असदित्युच्यते पार्थ न च तत्प्रेत्य नो इह ॥१७- २८॥

aśraddhayā hutaṃ dattaṃ tapastaptaṃ kṛtaṃ ca yat ।


asadityucyate pārtha na ca tatpretya no iha ॥17- 28॥

The given oblation and the austerity undergone with lack of faith, that which is called "asat," that is not for us having died or here, Son of Pritha. 


aśraddhayā (feminine, instrumental, singular) = by lack of faith

hutam (neuter, nominative, singular) = oblation 

dattam (past passive participle, neuter, nominative, singular) = given 

tapas (neuter, nominative, singular) = austerity 

taptam (past passive participle, neuter, nominative, singular) = undergone 

kṛtam (past passive participle, neuter, nominative, singular) = done 

ca (conjunction) (indeclinable) = and

yad (pronoun, 3rd person, neuter, nominative, singular) = that which  

asat (present participle, neuter, nominative, singular) = asat

iti (punctuation) (indeclinable) = (close quotes)  

ucyate (present tense, passive, 3rd person, singular) = it is called  

pārtha (masculine, vocative, singular) = Son of Pritha (epithet of Arjuna) 

na (adverb) (indeclinable) = not

ca (conjunction) (indeclinable) = or

tad (pronoun, 3rd person, neuter, nominative, singular) = that 

pretya (gerund) (indeclinable) = having died 

nas (pronoun, 1st person, dative, plural) = to us 

iha (adverb) (indeclinable) = here
