Bhagavad Gita: Chapter 18/Verse 25

अनुबन्धं क्षयं हिंसामनवेक्ष्य च पौरुषम् ।


मोहादारभ्यते कर्म यत्तत्तामसमुच्यते ॥१८- २५॥

anubandhaṃ kṣayaṃ hiṃsāmanavekṣya ca pauruṣam ।

mohādārabhyate karma yattattāmasamucyate ॥18- 25॥

The action which is commenced from delusion having disregarded the consequence of destruction, injury, and strength; that is said to be tamasic


anubandhaṃ (masculine, accusative, singular) = consequence

kṣayaṃ (masculine, accusative, singular) = destruction

hiṃsām (feminine, accusative, singular) = injury 

anavekṣya (gerund) (indeclinable) = having disregarded 

ca (conjunction) (indeclinable) = and

pauruṣam (neuter, accusative, singular) = strength


mohāt (masculine, ablative, singular) = from delusion 

ārabhyate (present tense, passive, 3rd person, singular) = it is commenced 

karma (neuter, nominative, singular) = action

yad (pronoun, 3rd person, neuter, nominative, singular) = which 

tad (pronoun, 3rd person, neuter, nominative, singular) = that 

tāmasam (neuter, nominative, singular) = tamasic 

ucyate (present tense, passive, 3rd person, singular) = it is said
