Bhagavad Gita: Chapter 9/Verse 3

अश्रद्दधानाः पुरुषा धर्मस्यास्य परन्तप ।

अप्राप्य मां निवर्तन्ते मृत्युसंसारवर्त्मनि ॥९- ३॥

aśraddadhānāḥ puruṣā dharmasyāsya parantapa ।


aprāpya māṃ nivartante mṛtyusaṃsāravartmani ॥9- 3॥

Spirits having a purpose without faith, having not attained me, they are forced to return on the path of death and transmigration, Scorcher of the Foe. 


aśraddadhānās (present participle, masculine, nominative, plural) = without faith

puruṣās (masculine, nominative, plural) = spirits  

dharmasya (masculine, genitive, singular) = of purpose 

asya (masculine, genitive, singular) = of it

parantapa (masculine, vocative, singular) = Scorcher of the Foe  


aprāpya (gerund) (indeclinable) = having not attained 

mām (pronoun, 1st person, accusative, singular) = me  

nivartante (present tense, 3rd person, plural) = they are forced to return (be reborn)

mṛtyusaṃsāravartmani (mṛtyu + saṃsāra + vartmani) (neuter, locative, singular) = on the path of death and transmigration
