Bhagavad Gita: Chapter 8/Verse 22

पुरुषः स परः पार्थ भक्त्या लभ्यस्त्वनन्यया ।


यस्यान्तःस्थानि भूतानि येन सर्वमिदं ततम् ॥८- २२॥

puruṣaḥ sa paraḥ pārtha bhaktyā labhyastvananyayā ।
yasyāntaḥsthāni bhūtāni yena sarvamidaṃ tatam ॥8- 22॥

That highest spirit is to be attained with devotion, and of which [devotion] by close proximity beings are established by which all this [universe] is pervaded. 


puruṣas (masculine, nominative, singular) = spirit

sas (pronoun, 3rd person, masculine, nominative, singular) = that one

paras (masculine, nominative, singular) = highest 

pārtha (masculine, vocative, singular) = Son of Pritha 

bhaktyā (feminine, instrumental, singular) = with devotion  

labhyas (gerundive, masculine, nominative, singular) = to be attained 

tu (conjunction) (indeclinable) = and

ananyayā (feminine, instrumental, singular) = by close


yasya (pronoun, 3rd person, masculine, genitive, singular) = of which 

antas (masculine, nominative, singular) = proximity 

sthāni (neuter, nominative, plural) = established 

bhūtāni (neuter, nominative, plural) = beings 

yena (pronoun, 3rd person, masculine, instrumental, singular) = by which 

sarvam (neuter, nominative, singular) = all 

idam (pronoun, 3rd person, neuter, nominative, singular) = this 

tatam (past passive participle, neuter, nominative, singular) = pervaded
