Bhagavad Gita: Chapter 9/Verse 1

श्रीभगवानुवाच

इदं तु ते गुह्यतमं प्रवक्ष्याम्यनसूयवे ।


ज्ञानं विज्ञानसहितं यज्ज्ञात्वा मोक्ष्यसेऽशुभात् ॥९- १॥


śrībhagavānuvāca

idaṃ tu te guhyatamaṃ pravakṣyāmyanasūyave ।

jñānaṃ vijñānasahitaṃ yajjñātvā mokṣyase'śubhāt ॥9- 1॥



The Blessed Lord said, But I will declare this greatest secret to you, the non-envious. Having known that knowledge together with discrimination, you will be released from inauspiciousness. 



śrībhagavān (masculine, nominative, singular) = the Blessed Lord


uvāca (past tense, 3rd person, singular) = one said 


idam (neuter, accusative, singular) = this  


tu (conjunction) (indeclinable) = but


te (pronoun, 2nd person, dative, singular) = to you


guhyatamam (superlative, neuter, accusative, singular) = greatest secret 


pravakṣyāmi (future tense, 1st person, singular) = I will declare 


anasūyave (masculine, dative, singular) = to the non-envious


jñānam (neuter, accusative, singular) = the knowledge  


vijñānasahitam (vijñāna + sahitam) (neuter, accusative, singular) = together with discrimination  


yad (neuter, accusative, singular) = that which 


jñātvā (gerund) (indeclinable) = having known 


mokṣyase (future tense, 2nd person, singular) = you will be released  


aśubhāt (masculine, ablative, singular) = from inauspiciousness
