Bhagavad Gita: Chapter 8/Verse 17

सहस्रयुगपर्यन्तमहर्यद्ब्रह्मणो विदुः ।

रात्रिं युगसहस्रान्तां तेऽहोरात्रविदो जनाः ॥८- १७॥

sahasrayugaparyantamaharyadbrahmaṇo viduḥ ।

rātriṃ yugasahasrāntāṃ te'horātravido janāḥ ॥8- 17॥

They, the people, knowing day and night know that which is a day of Brahmā extending as far as a thousand yugas, the night, the end of a thousand yuga. 


sahasrayugaparyantam (sahasra + yuga + paryantam) (masculine, accusative, singular) = extending as far as a yuga of a thousand

ahar (neuter, accusative, singular) = day 

yat (pronoun, 3rd person, neuter, accusative, singular) = that which 

brahmaṇas (neuter, genitive, singular) = of Brahmā

vidus (past tense, 3rd person, plural) = they know 

rātrim (feminine, accusative, singular) = night 

yugasahasrāntām (yuga + sahasra + antām) (feminine, accusative, singular) = the end of a thousand yuga 

te (pronoun, 3rd person, masculine, nominative, plural) = they  

ahorātravidas (ahorātra + vidas) (masculine, nominative, plural) = knowing day and night 

janās (masculine, nominative, plural) = people
