Bhagavad Gita: Chapter 8/Verse 10

प्रयाणकाले मनसाचलेन

भक्त्या युक्तो योगबलेन चैव ।

भ्रुवोर्मध्ये प्राणमावेश्य सम्यक् 

स तं परं पुरुषमुपैति दिव्यम् ॥८- १०॥


prayāṇakāle manasācalena
bhaktyā yukto yogabalena caiva ।
bhruvormadhye prāṇamāveśya samyak 
sa taṃ paraṃ puruṣamupaiti divyam ॥8- 10॥


At the time of death with the mind motionless with devotion and yoked with the power of yoga. having completely infused the vital breath in-between the two eyebrows, that one approaches that divine highest spirit. 


prayāṇakāle (masculine, locative, singular) = at the time of death

manasā (neuter, instrumental, singular) = with the mind 

acalena (neuter, instrumental, singular) = motionless  

bhaktyā (feminine, instrumental, singular) = with devotion 

yuktas (past passive participle, masculine, nominative, singular) = yoked  

yogabalena (yoga + balena) (masculine, instrumental, singular)  = with the power of yoga 

ca (conjunction) (indeclinable) = and 

eva (adverb) (indeclinable) = indeed 

bhruvos (feminine, genitive, dual) = of the two eyebrows 

madhye (masculine, locative, singular) = in-between 

prāṇam (masculine, accusative, singular) = the vital breath 

āveśya (causative gerund) (indeclinable) = having infused 

samyak (adverb) (indeclinable) = completely 


sas (pronoun, 3rd person, masculine, nominative, singular) = that one 

tam (pronoun, 3rd person, masculine, accusative, singular) = that  

param (masculine, accusative, singular) = highest  

puruṣam (masculine, accusative, singular) = spirit 

upaiti (present tense, 3rd person, singular) = one approaches  

divyam (masculine, accusative, singular) = divine
