Bhagavad Gita: Chapter 8/Verse 12

सर्वद्वाराणि संयम्य मनो हृदि निरुध्य च ।

मूर्ध्न्याधायात्मनः प्राणमास्थितो योगधारणाम् ॥८- १२॥

sarvadvārāṇi saṃyamya mano hṛdi nirudhya ca ।

mūrdhnyādhāyātmanaḥ prāṇamāsthito yogadhāraṇām ॥8- 12॥

Having controlled all the orifices of the body, having confined the mind in the heart, and having placed the vital breath of the self in the forehead, the concentration of yoga is established. 


sarvadvārāṇi (sarva + dvārāṇi) (neuter, accusative, plural) = all the orifices of the body

saṃyamya (gerund) (indeclinable) = having controlled 

manas (neuter, accusative, singular) = the mind

hṛdi (neuter, locative, singular) = in the heart 

nirudhya (gerund) (indeclinable) = having confined 

ca (conjunction) (indeclinable) = and

mūrdhni (neuter, locative, singular) = in the forehead

ādhāya (gerund) (indeclinable) = having placed 

ātmanas (masculine, genitive, singular) = of the self 

prāṇam (masculine, nominative, singular) = vital breath 

āsthitas (past passive participle, masculine, nominative, singular) = established  

yogadhāraṇām (feminine, accusative, singular) = the concentration of yoga
