Bhagavad Gita: Chapter 6/Verse 4

यदा हि नेन्द्रियार्थेषु न कर्मस्वनुषज्जते ।

सर्वसंकल्पसंन्यासी योगारूढस्तदोच्यते ॥६- ४॥

yadā hi nendriyārtheṣu na karmasvanuṣajjate ।

sarvasaṃkalpasaṃnyāsī yogārūḍhastadocyate ॥6- 4॥

Indeed, when one is not attached by the object of the senses, nor in actions, [and has] renunciation of all resolves, then it is said, one is ascended to yoga.


yadā (adverb) (indeclinable) = when

hi (adverb) (indeclinable) = indeed

na (adverb) (indeclinable) = not

indriyārtheṣu (indriya + artheṣu) (neuter, locative, plural) = by the object of the senses 

na (adverb) (indeclinable) = not

karmasu (neuter, locative, plural) = in actions

anuṣajjate (present tense, 3rd person, singular) = one is attached 

sarvasaṃkalpasaṃnyāsī (sarva + saṃkalpa + saṃnyāsī) (compound) (masculine, nominative, singular) = renunciation of all resolves 

yogārūḍhas (yoga + arūḍhas) (compound) (past passive participle, masculine, nominative, singular) = ascended to yoga 

tadā (adverb) (indeclinable) = then 

ucyate (present tense, passive, 3rd person, singular) = it is said
