Bhagavad Gita: Chapter 6/Verse 22

यं लब्ध्वा चापरं लाभं मन्यते नाधिकं ततः ।

यस्मिन्स्थितो न दुःखेन गुरुणापि विचाल्यते ॥६- २२॥



yaṃ labdhvā cāparaṃ lābhaṃ manyate nādhikaṃ tataḥ ।
yasminsthito na duḥkhena guruṇāpi vicālyate ॥6- 22॥

And having attained that, one does not think another attainment is superior from that in which one is established. One is even not shaken by severe unpleasantness. 


yam (pronoun, 3rd person, masculine, accusative, singular) = that

labdhvā (gerund) (indeclinable) = having attained

ca (conjunction) (indeclinable) = and 

aparam (masculine, accusative, singular) = another  

lābham (masculine, accusative, singular) = attainment  

manyate (present tense, 3rd person, singular) = one thinks

adhikam (masculine, accusative, singular) = superior  

tatas (masculine, ablative, singular) = from that

yasmin (pronoun, 3rd person, masculine, locative, singular) = in which one

sthitas (past passive participle, masculine, nominative, singular) = established  

na (adverb) (indeclinable) = not

duḥkhena (neuter, instrumental, singular) = by unpleasantness 

guruṇā (neuter, instrumental, singular) = by severe 

api (adverb) (indeclinable) = even

vicālyate (present tense, causative, 3rd person, singular) = one is shaken
