Bhagavad Gita: Chapter 5/Verse 18

विद्याविनयसंपन्ने ब्राह्मणे गवि हस्तिनि ।

शुनि चैव श्वपाके च पण्डिताः समदर्शिनः ॥५- १८॥

vidyāvinayasaṃpanne brāhmaṇe gavi hastini ।

śuni caiva śvapāke ca paṇḍitāḥ samadarśinaḥ ॥5- 18॥

Pandits see the same in a brahmin accomplished in the guidance of lore, a cow, a elephant, a dog, and indeed, a dog-cooker.


vidyāvinayasaṃpanne (vidyā + vinaya + saṃpanne) (compound) (adjective, masculine, locative, singular) = accomplished in the guidance of lore 

brāhmaṇe (masculine locative, singular) = brahmin 

gavi (feminine, locative, singular) = in a cow

hastini (masculine, locative, singular) =in an elephant 

śuni (masculine, locative, singular) = in a dog 

ca (conjunction) (indeclinable) = and

eva (adverb) (indeclinable) = indeed

śvapāke (masculine, locative, singular) =in a dog-cooker (epithet for an outcast) 

ca (conjunction) (indeclinable) = and

paṇḍitās (masculine, nominative, plural) = pandits 

samadarśinas (masculine, nominative, plural) = see the same
