Bhagavad Gita: Chapter 5/Verse 9

प्रलपन्विसृजन्गृह्णन्नुन्मिषन्निमिषन्नपि ।

इन्द्रियाणीन्द्रियार्थेषु वर्तन्त इति धारयन् ॥५- ९॥

pralapanvisṛjangṛhṇannunmiṣannimiṣannapi ।

indriyāṇīndriyārtheṣu vartanta iti dhārayan ॥5- 9॥


Chattering, excreting, grasping, opening the eyes, [and] shutting the eyes. Even believing, "The senses also abide in the objects of the senses."



pralapan (present participle, masculine, nominative, singular) = chattering 


visṛjan (present participle, masculine, nominative, singular) = excreting

gṛhṇan (present participle, masculine, nominative, singular) = grasping

unmiṣan (present participle, masculine, nominative, singular) = opening the eyes

nimiṣan (present participle, masculine, nominative, singular) = shutting the eyes

api (adverb) (indeclinable) = even

indriyāṇi (neuter, nominative, plural) = senses

indriyārtheṣu (indriya + artheṣu) (compound) (neuter, locative, plural) = in the objects of the senses 

vartante (present tense, 3rd person, plural) = they abide 


iti (punctuation) (indeclinable) = (close quotes) 


dhārayan (present participle, masculine, nominative, singular) = believing
