Bhagavad Gita: Chapter 7/Verse 9

पुण्यो गन्धः पृथिव्यां च तेजश्चास्मि विभावसौ ।

जीवनं सर्वभूतेषु तपश्चास्मि तपस्विषु ॥७- ९॥


puṇyo gandhaḥ pṛthivyāṃ ca tejaścāsmi vibhāvasau ।

jīvanaṃ sarvabhūteṣu tapaścāsmi tapasviṣu ॥7- 9॥

I am the pleasant fragrance in the soil, the brilliance in the fire, the life in all beings, and the austerity in the ascetics. 



puṇyas (adjective, masculine, nominative, singular) = pleasant 


gandhas (masculine, nominative, singular) = fragrance  


pṛthivyām (feminine, locative, singular) = in the soil


ca (conjunction) (indeclinable) = and 


tejas (neuter, nominative, singular) = brilliance 


ca (conjunction) (indeclinable) = and 


asmi (present tense, 1st person, singular) = I am  


vibhāvasau (masculine, locative, singular) = in the fire 


jīvanam (neuter, nominative, singular) = life 

sarvabhūteṣu (masculine, locative, plural) = in all beings 


tapas (neuter, nominative, singular) = austerity 


ca (conjunction) (indeclinable) = and 


asmi (present tense, 1st person, singular) = I am 


tapasviṣu (masculine, locative, plural) = in ascetics
