Bhagavad Gita: Chapter 6/Verse 42

अथवा योगिनामेव कुले भवति धीमताम् ।

एतद्धि दुर्लभतरं लोके जन्म यदीदृशम् ॥६- ४२॥

athavā yogināmeva kule bhavati dhīmatām ।

etaddhi durlabhataraṃ loke janma yadīdṛśam ॥6- 42॥

Indeed, otherwise one is born in the family of wise yogins. A birth such as this, indeed, is harder to attain in the world. 


athavā (adverb) (indeclinable) = otherwise

yoginām (masculine, genitive, plural) = of yogins

eva (adverb) (indeed) = indeed

kule (neuter, locative, singular) = in the family 

bhavati (present tense, 3rd person, singular) = one is born

dhīmatām (masculine, genitive, plural) = of the wise 

etad (neuter, nominative, singular) = this 

hi (adverb) (indeclinable) = indeed 

durlabhataram (comparative, neuter, nominative, singular) = harder to attain

loke (masculine, locative, singular) = in the world  

janma (neuter, nominative, singular) = birth  

yad (neuter, nominative, singular) = which 

īdṛśam (neuter, nominative, singular) =such
