Bhagavad Gita: Chapter 6/Verse 40

श्रीभगवानुवाच

पार्थ नैवेह नामुत्र विनाशस्तस्य विद्यते ।


न हि कल्याणकृत्कश्चिद्‌दुर्गतिं तात गच्छति ॥६- ४०॥

śrībhagavānuvāca
pārtha naiveha nāmutra vināśastasya vidyate ।
na hi kalyāṇakṛtkaścid‌durgatiṃ tāta gacchati ॥6- 40॥

The Blessed Lord said:
Son of Partha, indeed, not in this world nor the next world is destruction of one found. Indeed, anyone doing good does not go on a hard road.


śrībhagavān (masculine, nominative, singular) = the Blessed Lord 

uvāca (past tense, 3rd person, singular) = said

pārtha (masculine, vocative, singular) = Son of Partha (epithet of Arjuna) 

na (adverb) (indeclinable) = not

eva (adverb) (indeclinable) = indeed

iha (adverb) (indeclinable) = this world

na (adverb) (indeclinable) = not

amutra (adverb) (indeclinable) = the next world

vināśas (masculine, nominative, singular) = destruction 

tasya (pronoun, 3rd person, masculine, genitive, singular) = of one

vidyate (present tense, 3rd person, singular) = it is found 


na (adverb) (indeclinable) = not

hi (adverb) (indeclinable) = indeed

kalyāṇakṛt (masculine, nominative, singular) = doing good 

kaścid‌ (adverb) (indeclinable) = anyone 

durgatim (feminine, accusative, singular) = hard road  

tāta (masculine, vocative, singular) = (term used as endearment of pity)

gacchati (present tense, 3rd person, singular) = one goes
