Bhagavad Gita: Chapter 6/Verse 38

कच्चिन्नोभयविभ्रष्टश्छिन्नाभ्रमिव नश्यति ।


अप्रतिष्ठो महाबाहो विमूढो ब्रह्मणः पथि ॥६- ३८॥

kaccinnobhayavibhraṣṭaśchinnābhramiva naśyati ।

apratiṣṭho mahābāho vimūḍho brahmaṇaḥ pathi ॥6- 38॥

I hope one is not lost like a thunder cloud disbursed, failed in both. Without support, bewildered on the path of Brahman, O Mighty Armed One. 



kaccid (adverb) (indeclinable) = I hope that


na (adverb) (indeclinable) = not


ubhayavibhraṣṭas (ubhaya + vibhraṣṭas) (masculine, nominative, singular) = failed in both


chinnābhram (chinna + abhram) (masculine, nominative, singular) = a thunder cloud disbursed 


iva (indeclinable) = like


naśyati (present tense, 3rd person, singular) = one is lost 


apratiṣṭhas (masculine, nominative, singular) = without support 

mahābāhas (masculine, vocative, singular) = O Mighty Armed One (epithet of Krishna) 


vimūḍhas (past passive participle, masculine, nominative, singular) = bewildered 


brahmaṇas (neuter, genitive, singular) = of Brahman


pathi (masculine, locative, singular) = on the path
