Bhagavad Gita: Chapter 6/Verse 34

चञ्चलं हि मनः कृष्ण प्रमाथि बलवद्‌दृढम् ।


तस्याहं निग्रहं मन्ये वायोरिव सुदुष्करम् ॥६- ३४॥

cañcalaṃ hi manaḥ kṛṣṇa pramāthi balavad‌dṛḍham ।
tasyāhaṃ nigrahaṃ manye vāyoriva suduṣkaram ॥6- 34॥

Krishna, the mind, indeed, is unsteady, one that is tormenting, one that is powerful, [and] obstinate. I think it is as difficult to restrain as the wind. 


cañcalam (neuter, nominative, singular) = unsteady

hi (adverb) (indeclinable) = indeed

manas (neuter, nominative, singular) = mind

kṛṣṇa (masculine, vocative, singular) = Krishna

pramāthi (neuter, nominative, singular) = one that is tormenting

balavat (neuter, nominative, singular) = on that is powerful 

dṛḍham (neuter, nominative, singular) = obstinate


tasya (pronoun, neuter, genitive, singular) = of it 

aham (pronoun, 1st person, nominative, singular) = I

nigraham (masculine accusative, singular) = restrain

manye (present tense, 1st person, singular) = I think 

vāyos (masculine, genitive, singular) = of the wind 

iva (adverb) (indeclinable) = as

suduṣkaram (neuter, accusative, singular) = difficult to do
