Chapter 1/Verse 8

भवान्भीष्मश्च कर्णश्च कृपश्च समितिंजयः ।

अश्वत्थामा विकर्णश्च सौमदत्तिस्तथैव च ॥१-८॥

bhavānbhīṣmaśca karṇaśca kṛpaśca samitiṃjayaḥ ।

aśvatthāmā vikarṇaśca saumadattistathaiva ca ॥1-8॥

You and Bhīṣma and Karṇa and Kṛpa, Samitiṃjayas. Aśvatthāmā and Vikarṇa and son-of-Somadatta, indeed, in that manner.

One translation interprets "samitiṃjayas" as a proper name, but most other translations consider it an epithet of Kṛpa meaning "victorious in battle".  I side with the lone translation given the sandhi of the word does not make sense one making the word an epithet of Kṛpa.
